Glenda Lloyd Walker Mcbride

June 16, 1934 — February 10, 2011

Glenda Lloyd Walker McBride was born June 16, 1934 in Mt. Sterling, Utah to George Darrold and Gladys Myers Lloyd Walker. She was the first of six children born into a loving home. She enjoyed a deep love with her parents and siblings. On Thursday, February 10, 2011, surrounded by the loving arms of her sweetheart Dean, her 5 children and special family members, she moved peacefully from this life to the open arms of her parents and many ancestors whom she connected with through her endless hours of service in Family History.
She met her eternal companion, Dean LeRoy McBride while still in High School. Upon returning home from his mission, they were married in the Logan LDS Temple for Time and all Eternity on February 6, 1953. This past Sunday, they celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary.
She taught her children the value of hard work, honesty and unconditional love. Mom spent 37 years as a Lab Technician at Schreiber Cheese where she made some deep and lasting friendships.
She will be greatly missed by her eternal companion Dean, and her children, Kevin (Claudia) McBride, Cindy (Kirk) Farmer, Roxie McBride, Jill (Nathan/deceased) Goodrich and Amy (Tim) Kohler; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and her brothers and sisters, Larry (Mary) Walker, Delaine (Marcus) Petersen, Norman (Rene) Walker, Pauline Walker and Colleen (Wes) Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law.
The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Hirst for the endless medical care and friendship that he has shown our mother throughout the years, Alpine Home Care and Hospice for their short, but wonderful service, especially Pat and Jenie, and a special thank you to her niece, Temple Mortenson for her compassionate love during her last hours with us.
Her posterity will always remember her advice, “Heavenly Father will protect you up to the speed limit...after that, you’re on your own.”
Mom, you’ve been a treasure in our lives!
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Logan Family History Center in her name.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the North Logan 7th Ward Chapel located at 1850 North 400 East in North Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan (formerly Cranney Mortuary) 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, and prior to the services at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
