Glenna Stell Douglass passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022 in Kaysville Utah with her family at her side. She was born February 18, 1941 in Smithfield Utah to Glenn William and Louise Bradley Douglass. She was greeted into the family by 3 brothers and became their precious little sister. She tried to keep up with her brothers delivering newspapers in the snow and learning to hunt while mom kept her in ringlets and frilly dresses. Dad loved her beautiful brown eyes. She was definitely “Daddy’s little girl.”
Glenna attended Summit Elementary, Smithfield Junior High and North Cache High School. She participated in many of the musicals at North Cache and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved music and that love continued throughout her life. She was an accomplished artist and golfer. She loved the mountains, deserts, and her Jeeps.
She graduated with her BS from Utah State University. She was a true, devoted Aggie. She also received her M.Ed from the University of Nevada Reno. She attended Boston College in Boston where she studied at the Perkins institute and obtained certification to work with blind and deaf students. This was her calling. She loved her students and always encouraged them to not let their disability hold them back.
Most of Glenna’s life was spent in Nevada. She loved Nevada and lived in Reno, Las Vegas and Mesquite where she developed many cherished friendships.
She returned to Utah in 2016, and her sister’s were eternally grateful. They were able to love, laugh, care, and be with her for the remainder of her life. They have many cherished memories of their loving and spunky sister, Glenna.
The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to those who so lovingly and compassionately cared for Glenna from Whisper Cove Assisted Living Center and Atlas Hospice.
Glenna leaves behind her sisters: Cindy Christensen (Brent) Coalville, Utah, Jackie Poulsen (David) Kaysville, Utah, and her brother Tony Douglass (Ruby) Smithfield, Utah. Sister-in-laws Roselene Douglass, Jean Douglass, and Kathleen Douglass. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces who adored their Aunt Na.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brothers: Billie, Larrie, Paul, and Scott and sister-in-law Susan Hampton Douglass. We are sure they are welcoming her back into their arms
