HYDE PARK – Glenn F. Marston, 85, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2011 of congestive heart failure.
Glenn was born on February 21, 1926 in Ogden, Utah. He was the son of Glen Marston and Gladys Fernelius Marston. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Edward and Ellen Fernelius in Mountain Green, Utah.
He graduated from the University of Utah with bachelors and masters degrees, and pursued a doctorate degree at the University of Washington. He taught at Snow College for three years and for 35 years in the Economics Department at Utah State University.
He was a combat medic in the Philippines during World War II and served for many years in the National Guard and Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Major. He loved his country and was proud to serve.
He was a member of the LDS Church. He married Imogene Cundiff on September 21, 1950. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene, children; Jeff (Nancy) Marston, Jan (Vedel) Welch, Jeanne (Robin) Rankin and grandchildren; Devin, Tawni and Anna Welch, Scott Marston, and Jean Louise and Ben Rankin. He is also survived by his brother, Ted Burrell, and sister, Cheri Grant. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl D. Marston.
He loved to get together with his family to work and play. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa, and we loved and appreciated him.
Special thanks go to Dr. Jeff Strong, the ICU nurses at Logan Regional Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center CICU. We would also like to thank the wonderful people of Alpine Hospice who helped us care for him during his last weeks of life.
