Gloria Lish

Gloria Marion Lish, age 73, passed away in Logan, Utah on April 15, 2024 due to heart complications. She was surrounded by her earthly and heavenly family.

She has been a long time resident of Providence, Utah. Gloria was born July 3, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Paul and Ruth Peterson Lish. She was the third of six children. She spent most of her growing up years in Idaho and graduated from Idaho Falls High School prior to attending Brigham Young University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. She served a full time mission in Venezuela for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Upon her return home she was able to combine her language skills with her Child Development Degree as she assisted Spanish speaking families in the Head Start Program. Her career included many years at Intermountain Healthcare and working for the United States Post Office.

 Gloria was an excellent pianist and spent many happy hours at the piano. She enjoyed crocheting and a myriad of her family and friends were recipients of her lovely handmade gifts. She was an avid fan of word games and was delighted when she could find a willing partner for a good game of scrabble. She loved attending the temple when her health permitted and she spent countless hours indexing names to assist in Family Search. Gloria excelled in charity and her friendships were very precious to her. People seemed to flock to her because she knew how to be a true friend. She had dozens of nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Gloria, dearly, because of the kindness and caring she gave to each of them. Gloria has left a wonderful legacy of faithfulness, optimism, and love for the Lord and for others.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Boyd Wood and Paul Lish, a brother, Michael, and twin sisters, Nellie and Viola. She is survived by sisters, Marilyn (Hank) Brown, Carol (Craig) Stewart, and Kathy (Alan) Breed and brothers, Edgar (Tammie) Wood and Kennieth Wood.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 12 noon at the Providence 1st Ward Building located at 420 W. 100 N. Providence, Utah 84332.
