Our dear mother, Gloria Douglass Berntsen crossed over on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Logan Regional Hospital with her children by her side.
She was born May 1, 1927 in Smithfield, Utah to John and Maggie Mae Bingham Douglass. She was the youngest of eight siblings who all preceded her in death.
Mom loved her home, yard, neighbors and family; daughter Cynthiann Berntsen Smith & husband Dennis, their children, Shane (Jen) Smith, Andrea Smith, Brooke (Jake) Albretsen, and Patrick Smith, 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Ryan Smith and James Albretsen and her son, Jeffrey Douglass Berntsen.
Everyone loved mom and was drawn to her by her quick wit, independence, free spirit and those beautiful blue eyes.
In her later years she worked for Vern Cook at Cook Transportation and grew to think of him as her friend and mentor.
Graveside services will be held at the Smithfield Cemetery on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and relatives who wish to join us in celebrating mom’s life are asked to join us at Smithfield Senior Citizens Center, 375 Canyon Road, Smithfield immediately following the graveside service.
