Our beloved father and grandfather, Golden Wesley Barrett, 87, returned to our Heavenly Father Sunday, September 22, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 3, 1926 in Benson, Utah to Golden Wesley Sr. and Barbara Irene Lewis Barrett and was the third of six children. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 when the war ended. He married Joycelyn Lambrose on July 21, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. After Joycelyn's passing, he married Rebecca Burns May 21, 1994 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Wes worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a draftsman, and as a tax accountant for T.C.A., before starting his own successful tax accounting business. He was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, sculpting, and woodworking.
Wes was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as a bishop, Sunday school president and temple worker. He had a powerful testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Barrett, Seal Beach, CA., two sons, and four daughters. Golden Wesley Barrett III, Logan, UT; Murray and Lynette Barrett, Mesa AZ.;Lauren Dailey, Hesperia, CA.;Diane and Patrick Mullaly, Layton, UT.; Cheryl and Scott Atkinson, Hooper Ut.; Lisa Barrett, Salt Lake City, UT; and two sisters, Lillian Kidd, Logan, UT; and Theda Stanley, CA.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Ut. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
