Gordon Lee Schvaneveldt

June 20, 1924 — August 8, 2006

Gordon Schvaneveldt, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born on June 20, 1924 in Logan, Utah to Joseph H. Jr., and Mayme Carlson Schvaneveldt. He married Lucile Lundstrom on September 11, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was later divorced.
Gordon retired after 34 years as a school teacher at the Logan Junior High School and as an employee of the Salt Lake City Recorder’s Office. He served in the 84th Infantry in World War II, and was an artillery man during the Korean War.
He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Bishop for many years in Logan and in many other church callings during his lifetime.
He is survived by his daughters: Ann (Nikke) Nemerouf of Whittier, California; Janet (Lorin) Smart of Wallsburg, Utah; and Jean Taylor of Farmington, Utah; a brother: John A. of Great Falls, Montana; a sister, Carol Stuart of Medford, Oregon. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 ½ great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Clyde, Dee, Dale and Calder.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held prior to services from 11:00 to 11:45 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion.
