Grace Foster Huppi
North Logan, Utah: Grace Foster Huppi, 89, passed away 13 June 2008 in Logan, Utah. Grace was born 25 July 1918 in St. George, Utah to Elizabeth Jane (Jennie) Nixon and Charles Franklin Foster Jr. She married Melvin Abraham Huppi 30 October 1946, and later they were sealed in the St. George LDS temple for time and all eternity.
Education was always important to Grace. She graduated from Dixie High. She was a voluminous reader of prose, poetry, and the scriptures. She and her husband instilled this desire for knowledge and life-long learning in their children. This was a source of great pride for both Grace and Mel. Later in life she continued to demonstrate her love of education by donating to scholarships.
Grace worked in the bakery, in stores as a clerk, for the telephone company, the Ogden arsenal, and at Cache Knit. Her favorite thing to do was to be a mother, at which she was very successful. Grace also found joy in serving a mission to North Carolina, researching genealogy, and in doing temple work. She served faithfully in her church callings.
She is survived by children Janean Huppi, Melvin Charles (Denise) Huppi, Diane (Lee) Connelly, Jolynn Cornia, and Darlene Harper. Her grandchildren Melvin (Darlene) Cornia, Maya (deceased) (Allen) Hanberg, Crystal Cornia (deceased), Michelle (deceased) (Andrew) Young, Jeremiah Cornia, Melvin Don Huppi (deceased), Daniel M. (Angela) Harper, and Derrick T. Harper and great grandchildren Oceayn, Stormy, & Sky Cornia; Zanner & Eyan Cornia; Caleb & Jackson Young loved her greatly.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 12:30 PM in the Logan City Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, and prior to services on Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
