LOGAN, UTAH: Guila Selley Epley, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Legacy House in Logan. She was born on August 6, 1919 to Vernon C. and Ella N. Olsen in Hyrum, Utah.
She grew up in Hyrum and spent her summers at the family homestead in Blacksmith Fork Canyon.
She married Woodrow Leishman Selley in 1936 and from this marriage came three children, Clair, Lynda, and MeriAnn. She and Wood owned and operated the SOS Drug Stores in Springville and Smithfield, Utah. Wood passed away in 1975.
Guila later married Chuck Epley and they spent the next 26 years traveling and living in Mesa, Arizona until his death in 2003 when she moved back to Smithfield.
Guila is survived by her son Clair (Tamara) Selley, Providence, Utah and her daughter MeriAnn (Neal) McQuarrie, Everett, Washington. Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Woodrow and Chuck, a daughter Lynda, her brother Clyde and her sister LaVerne.
