Gwendolyn (Gwen) Rivers

April 4, 1929 — August 5, 2010

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Hansen Johnston Boodrookas Johannsen Rivers
Returned to her Heavenly Father on 5 Aug 2010. She was born on 4 April 1929 to Lloyd Herbert Hansen and Lucy Mae Kunz. Gwen married LaMar W Johnston, later divorced; four children were born to them. She married Constantine (Gus) Boodrookas later divorced; one child was born to them. She married Erling Johannsen (Dec). She married Arthur Rivers the love of her life for Time and All Eternity. She grew up in Cache Valley and often shared wonderful childhood memories of times spent with her eleven brothers and sisters. She worked her entire life, but she was proudest of being a foster grandparent with the Davis/Logan school districts. She loved teaching and talking to all her students. She received many awards/gifts throughout her life, but said her greatest gifts/accomplishments were her children/grandchildren. Her parties were always done with style and grace. She loved and lived the gospel and enjoyed sharing her testimony often. She loved to sew and create beautiful things. She always dreamed of being a fashion designer, so being the determined and grand lady she was she held her own fashion show at Little America. She designed and with Connie Manning’s help created all the dresses. Her children and grandchildren had a great time walking the runway that night. Her talents, strength and grace will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband Arthur; her children, Justine Wilson (Farmington), Kathy (Rod) Smith (West Point), Ken Johnston (Syracuse), Nicki (Mike) Spohn (Salt Lake City), Paul (Elisa) Rivers (Ogden), Michael (Ting) Rivers (Spring,TX), Grace (Shawn) Phillips (Poland,OH), Susan (Wade) Pierson(Logan), Becky Rivers (Brigham City). Her brothers, Eldon, Jay, Clair, D.Vaughn, Ronald, Gordon Hansen. She has 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
