Hal Jack Moffitt

Hal Jack Moffitt passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2017.

He was born on September 3, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leo Jack and Dora Burningham Moffitt. He was the first of 5 children. He was preceded in death by his parents. He served an LDS Mission in the New Zealand, South Mission. He married Elaine Quayle in the Logan LDS Temple on August 23, 1963.

He attended Box Elder High School and graduated from Weber State University.

Hal owned and operated Moffitt Insurance Services on Main Street in Logan for over 30 years. He served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Utah (IIAU) and was awarded Agent of the Year. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Logan, and served in the Utah National Guard.

Hal was a member of the LDS church. He served in many capacities including Bishopric Counselor, teacher, Stake Clerk and Young Men Advisor. He loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandchildren and loved riding motorcycles with his kids and his buddies.

Hal is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Debbie (Rex) Olson, Brett Moffitt, Jason (Patriece) Moffitt and Michelle (Jayson) Lundberg; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in the Elk Ridge Ward Chapel, 1650 East 2600 North in North Logan. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, and prior to the services on Thursday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be held in the North Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
