North Logan, UT – Harold Ray Egli, 75, passed away November 10, 2014, following complications from a recent heart attack to be reunited with his Heavenly Father and beloved earthly parents. Born July 30, 1939 in Trenton, UT, to Ruth and Joseph Egli. He married and was sealed to his sweetheart, Lavona Faye Egli, in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 25, 1969 for time and all eternity. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1957 and received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1965. He served in the London, England mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“LDS Church”) from 1961-1963. Harold worked for Kraft Foods for 30 years while serving his family, church and community. Harold started his career and family in Blackfoot, Idaho and then moved to Melrose, Minnesota where three more children joined the family and he served as Branch President of the Alexandria Branch of the LDS Church. In 1984, Harold moved to Gurnee, Illinois where he served as Bishop of the Gurnee First Ward of the LDS Church. Upon retiring from Kraft Foods in 1997, he moved to North Logan where he lived until his passing.
Harold leaves his family, friends and community with a legacy of faith, selfless service and kindness to others. He was a friend to all he met and enjoyed making others feel comfortable and accepted regardless of circumstance. He was a loving and generous husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather and will be missed by all who had the honor of spending time with him.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Egli; his sons, Lance (Angie) Egli and Steven (Sarah) Egli; his daughters, Tiffany (Sean) Bowling and Erica (Brian) Garcia; his brother, Ruelen (Jeanne) Egli; his sister, Marlene Dalton; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the North Logan 11th Ward LDS Chapel 1900 North 1550 East, in North Logan, UT with Bishop Todd Reese conducting. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, UT and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
