Harold Stewart

March 19, 1935 — November 7, 2014

COLLEGE WARD/LOGAN, UTAH: Harold Fitzgerald Stewart Jr. passed away quickly and peacefully on November 7, 2014 in the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT after a committed and faith-filled life.
Born March 19, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT to Harold Stewart and Abbie Loraine Stewart, he married Vera Anne Lenroot in Salt Lake City on February 27, 1961. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
During his life, Harold was a great example of committed service to The Lord’s Kingdom and showed this commitment in several ways. He often spoke of the love, admiration and respect he had for his older sisters Carol, Margaret and Deanne. His father passed away when he was only 12 years old, which placed him in a father-figure role to his younger brother Michael. Because of this relationship, they grew to love and admire each other. As a young man Harold served an LDS mission in Sydney, Australia. He spoke with fondness of his return home from Australia when he traveled the world with his brother. Later, Harold served in several church callings including; bishop (Arbor Ward, Salt Lake), scout master, choir and ward music director and stake high-councilor. Harold and his sweetheart Vera Anne were committed to missionary service and used music as a tool to share His message. Although his wife was afflicted with illness, they both found a way to serve a full-time mission together at the Utah Boys Ranch in West Jordan, UT, and part-time missions at the Cache County Jail and Family History Center.
Harold was educated at both BYU and the U of U and worked as a salesman for several companies, owned his own roofing business and after initial retirement, found employment as a bus driver for the Cache County School District.
He will be remembered for his up-beat passion for life. Harold never slowed down. Caring for his land and animals, planting trees, fixing fences and attending USU sporting events were a few of the things on his to-do list this last week.
Harold is survived by his 12 children and their spouses: Brian (Kim), Germany; Christine (Dale) Parkes. St. George, UT; Sandy (Rod) Wells, Wenatchee, WA; Kathy (Mark) Robbins, Farmington, UT; James (Janet) Bellevue, WA; John (Angie) Perry, UT; Sam (Heidi) Kaysville, UT; Diana (Craig) Park; Logan, UT; Carol (Craig) Bond, Gilbert, AZ; Harold III (Marcelle) Grantsville, UT; Daniel (Britney), Laverkin, UT; Charity (Ben) Call, Logan, UT. He has 52 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also, survived by his sisters Margaret Ward, Deanne (Robert) Zarbock. Preceded in death by his sweetheart Vera Anne, parents Harold and Abbie Loraine, sisters MaryJane and Carol, and brother Michael.
