Harold William Buttars

January 28, 1919 — December 21, 2008

Harold William Buttars
On December 21,2008 after a long and valiant battle with cancer, Harry returned to his Father in Heaven and the loving arms of his dear wife. He would have been 90 next month.
He was born January 28,1919 to William Buttars and Louise Whitney in Clarkston Utah. He met the love of his life, Sara Dickson, and married her on August 15, 1940. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They worked hard side by side to accomplish great things together. In their younger years they were members of the Clarkston Riding Posse where Harry won several trophies in polo. They ran a small farm in Clarkston then later in Trenton where he is a friend to every one and has lived ever since. He also worked and retired from Trenton Feed Co-op after 23 years. Harry and Sara were best friends and sweethearts for almost 63 years when Sara passed away 6 years ago.
Harry has always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had an extremely strong testimony and great love for the Savior and His Heavenly Father. He loved serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful example of honesty, integrity and never judged others. He loved farming with all his heart and instilled the love of hard work in all his posterity. He farmed with horses in his early years and was leery to give them up for a tractor, but he soon loved his tractor too. He loved a good cold coke and a BS session with anyone willing. He had a very contagious sense of humor and was always happy, positive, and absolutely loved life. He was extremely proud of his family and said that his greatest accomplishment in life was his 7 children, 38 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara; a son, Marvin Buttars; a son-in-law, George Martinez; a grandson and great-grandson Rick and Fuzzy Gilsdorf. his parents; 4 brothers; Clair, Lauren, Vaughn, Orland, and a sister, Thora Price.
He is survived by his children Paul and Billie Buttars, Lloyd and Venna Buttars, Betty and Doug Schenk, Leila Martinez, Valeen and Lee Nelson, Tamara and Terry Lee, Eutauna and Brian Yocom and two sisters Lou Lott and Leone Buttars.
