Helen Lenore Mauchley Cook of Logan, Utah, passed away on September 1, 2024, in Ogden, Utah, at McKay Dee Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1942, to Lawrence Morris Mauchley and Lenore Poulter Mauchley. Helen grew up in Ogden, Utah.
Helen dedicated 23 years of her life working as a nurse’s aide at Sunshine Terrace, where she touched many lives with her care and compassion.
Helen’s journey through life included marriages to Mark Ray Pewtress and Jack Homemeyer, both of which ended in divorce. On November 26, 1973, she married Noel Laker Cook. Together, they enjoyed trips to Jackson Hole, playing piano duets, and singing with the Town Singers.
A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Helen’s faith grew stronger as her health declined, and she found great solace in the power of prayer.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband and three half-brothers, Dr. Moylan Peterson, Dr. Donald Peterson, and Dale Mauchley, as well as her three half-sisters, Lois Blanche Mauchley Scrivner, Mary Shanna Mauchley Ames, and Betty Peterson.
Helen will be fondly remembered for her love of music, mystery novels, and her beautiful home. She cherished playing Uno, reading poetry, and the company of her dear friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
For those who would like to attend, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 10:00 am. in the Logan Cementery. Because of a road closure enter the cemetary by driving east on 10th North. At the top of the hill, turn into the cemetry then turn left on the first road lined on both sides with trees.
