Helen Fay Munk

August 2, 1923 — April 14, 2023

Helen Fay Wilkinson Munk of Benson, Utah, 99, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Helen was born to Oliver and Amanda Wilkinson in Logan, Utah on August 2, 1923. She had two brothers Clair (Nancy) and Fred (Betty). After losing her mother at 2 and her father at 16, she was raised by her beloved stepmother, Cleone, who later married Lionel Richardson. Helen was married to Lionel Lehi Munk, Jr. on August 6, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. She was blessed with one son, Larry (Nancy) Munk and three daughters Susan (Courtney) Struve, Connie (Fred) Allsop and Jill (Kent) Olsen. She had 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Helen was raised in Logan and graduated from Logan High School and from LDS Business College. She worked at Utah State in the 4-H Department; in the Logan Temple recording office; and was the Executive Secretary for the Logan Regional Hospital until she retired in 1987.
She was passionate about her family, was an excellent seamstress, was famous for her lemon meringue pie and cinnamon rolls, loved family history work, and was an accomplished pianist.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Junior, her son, Larry, her grandson, Colby Munk great-grandson, Nathan Christensen, and her brothers Fred and Clair Wilkinson.

Mother was a strong woman and a great example to us, overcoming many obstacles and challenges throughout her life. She quietly gave service and love to many along the way. Mother will be cherished and will be immensely missed.

Graveside service will be held at the Logan Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at noon.
