Helen Smith of Logan passed away June 7, 2006, in the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 75.
She was born December 6, 1930 in Logan, Utah to Leland H. and Blanche N. Smith. She was educated in the Logan City Schools and attended Utah State University.
She worked for several years in the USU Bookstore. She enjoyed and worked as a dental assistant for many years until her retirement.
Helen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served a mission in the West Central States Mission. She was very active in ward and stake leadership positions throughout her lifetime. She found great enjoyment in the humanitarian activity of the church and organized and worked in the many projects. Her greatest joy was serving in the Logan Temple.
She loved to bowl, and for many years she bowled in two different leagues. Her bowling teams were winners and she had many trophies to show for her skills.
Helen also loved to travel, going to Israel several times, as will as to Europe and Mexico, and other favorite places within the states.
Helen is survived by a sister, Margene (Don) Oborn of St. George, a brother Jay (Bonnie) Smith of Roy, Utah, and many nieces and nephews who were very special in her life.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 AM at the Logan 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel. 89 South 200 West where friends and family may call one hour before funeral services.
