HELEN IVY (THOMPSON) PETERSON
Helen Ivy (Thompson) Peterson passed away on October 4, 2007, from complications due to kidney cancer.
Helen was born November 8, 1951, in Upland, California to Clarence “Tiff” and Helen Marie Thompson. Most of her adult life was spent in Northern California. She married Norman Laverne Peterson in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on Feb. 19, 2005. Shortly after their marriage they moved to North Logan, Utah to build a new home together.
Helen loved spending time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite activities were kayaking, camping at Lake Tahoe, and visiting the California Coast.
After completing her education at Brigham Young University, Helen taught for many years at Oakbrook and Cleo Gordon Elementary Schools in Fairfield, California. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many different positions within the church. One of her favorite positions was working with the young women. She had a special talent of touching the lives of the youth.
She is survived by her husband; her parents of Ontario, CA; her siblings: Neils (Jolene) Thompson of Albuquerque, NM, David (Barbara) Thompson of Alpine, UT, Kristina (Christopher) Nielsen of Fremont, CA; nieces and nephews; and her step-children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Ann Thompson.
Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at the LDS North Logan Stake Center, 2750 North 800 East, North Logan, Utah. Viewings will be the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and at 10:30 am on Wednesday at the North Logan Stake Center.
