LOGAN, UTAH: H. Randall Shelton, 70, passed away from a heart attack Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Navajo Lake, Utah.
Randall was born in Newton, Utah, on October 13, 1937, to Horace K. Shelton and Lois May Hill. The family soon left Cache Valley and moved to Southern California. Randy graduated in 1955 from Inglewood High School. On March 15, 1958, he married Virginia (Sue) Waters in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. In the fall of 1978 the family moved to Cache Valley and opened Shelton’s Amoco Station. He later worked at Thiokol and at Utah State University.
He has been an active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his whole life and has held many callings including that of Bishop and most recently working in the temple baptistery. He loved camping and fishing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sue, son Bill (Trina) Shelton of North Logan, daughter Kellie (Jeff) Hedin of Providence, son Steve (Tiffany) Shelton of North Logan, daughter Marci (Wade) Jewkes of Logan, sister Beth (Keith) Mann of Logan, brother Bart (Carol) Shelton of Logan, 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and a daughter, Tracy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Lundstrom Park Ward chapel, 1260 N. 1600 E. in Logan. Friends and family may call Friday evening 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Allen Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 N. in North Logan, or Saturday 9:30 – 10:30 am at the church. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery.
