Hyrum Reid Anderson
Hyrum Reid Anderson, a life-long resident of Logan, died, unexpectedly, at his home just a few days short of his 88th birthday.
Reid was born March 15, 1925, the eldest son of Hyrum and Annie Smart Anderson. He joined the Army in 1943 and served in The South Pacific and Japan. After returning to Logan, Reid met and fell in love with Pauline Anna Ellis of Kemmerer, Wyoming. They were married November 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. As a young husband and father Reid worked as a truck driver, a carpenter, and roofer and worked for several years at Safeway as the produce manager. In 1957, Reid was very proud to be hired as a Letter Carrier for the United Stated Postal Service. He loved meeting the people on his route and was known for his friendly smile and happy disposition. After 33 years of service for the Post office, he retired in January 1990. He held many LDS Church callings and worked in the LDS Temple baptistry for 14 years.
Reid is survived by Pauline, his wife of 66 years, his three children, Gary (Maureen) Anderson, Linda (Glenn) Selander, and Annette (Kenneth) McDaniel, 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Phyllis Anderson and Bonnie Anderson.
