PROVIDENCE, UT – Dr. H. Ronald Frogley, 81 passed away
at his home, surrounded by his family, on October
26th, 2005.
Born April 25, 1924 in Brigham City, UT to Henry
Alfred Frogley & Sarah Luella Fife. Married to Donna
Lee Woodland of Pocatello, ID on Sept. 12, 1947 in the
Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He attended High School in Baker, OR. He graduated
from Brigham Young University in with a B.A. in
Anatomy and a M.A. in Zoology and Physiology. After
working for the Federal Bureau of Investigations for 7
years, living in San Diego CA, Kansas City, MO, Salina
and Hutchinson, KS, Ron left the Bureau to attend
Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa,
where he resided until retirement.
Upon earning his doctor of chiropractic degree in
1961, he worked at Palmer as the department head of
Neurology, the Academic Dean, Dean of the Clinic, the
Vice President, and the Executive Vice President. He
simultaneously ran a private practice. Dr. Frogley
retired from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2000
when he moved to Providence, Utah.
Ron served in the U.S. Navy and was attached to the
Marines in the south pacific during WW2 where he was
awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action.
He was a member of BYU Vikings, Rotary, International
Chiropractic Association, a member of the Palmer
Chiropractic Board of Trustees, a member of the Iowa
Board of Examiners, and professionally received many
awards, including “Parker Seminars’ Chiropractor of
the Year” in 2000 and is a certificate holder for
Palmer College.
As a member of the LDS Church, he served as Branch
President, Bishop, High Counselor, First Counselor in
the Stake Presidency, Counselor in the Des Moines, IA
Mission Presidency, and Stake Patriarch.
Ron is survived by his wife and ten children: Dr.
Craig Frogley (Sandy, Utah), Dr. Colin Frogley (Aptos,
CA), Dr. Chris Frogley (Bettendorf, IA), Ronda
Thompson (Providence, UT), Clark Frogley (Middleburgh,
NY), Debra Broberg (Simi Valley, CA), Dr. Curt Frogley
(New Bern, NC), Dr. Scott Frogley (Draper, UT), Laura
Dahl (Redding, CA), and Dr. Cory Frogley (South
Jordan, UT), and brother Keith Frogley (Provo, UT).
37 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also
survive him.
There will be a viewing on Friday, October 28th from
6-8 PM at Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North,
North Logan, UT. Funeral Services will be held at the
LDS Church, 355 Canyon Road in Providence, UT on
Saturday, October 29th, 2005 at 10 AM with a viewing
from 9:00 – 9:45 prior to services. Condolences may
