Ida Murray McBride Hill (1917-2011)
Ida Murray McBride Hill, 94 passed away peacefully in Idaho Falls, Idaho on October 23, 2011
Ida was born June l, 1917 in Wellsville, Utah to Ida and Parley P. Murray. She was the second of four children.
Ida lived in Wellsville her entire life until the spring of 2006 when she moved to a retirement home in Idaho Falls, Idaho and to be near her son and family.
Ida graduated from South Cache High School in 1935. She married Don McBride in the Logan LDS Temple on June 24, 1936. Don passed away in June 1958.
In 1962 she opened Ida's Beauty Salon in Wellsville, which she owned and operated for 26 years.
On April 28, 1970, she married Boyd Hill. Boyd passed away in 2003.
Ida was an active member of the LDS Church. She taught Primary for 26 years, was
Primary President worked in MIA and the Relief Society. She also loved working in the
Temple. Ida had a great sense of humor and has enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting
For friends and family. She loved genealogy, gardening and having lunch with her
Friends. In her younger years she loved riding horses and dancing.
Ida was a wonderful mother, grandmother of seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother of thirteen.
She is survived and loved by her children Margene (John) Gumph of Carlsbad, Ca. and Dale (Sharon) McBride of
Idaho Falls, Id. Her grandchildren, Torrey Obray, Carmel Ca., Todd (Ann) Obray,
Manchester, England, Kathy (Scotty) Cameron, Carlsbad, Ca. Karen Obray, Laguna Niguel,
Ca. Shanna (Reed) Bernard, Hooper, Ut., Greg (Shelley) McBride, Ammon, Id., and Jannette (Aaron) Clark of Idaho Falls. Id..
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Parley and Clair, Sister Eunice Douglas
The McBride family wishes to express our gratitude to the staff at Turtle &Crane, Lily Syringa and Creekside Hospice for their compassion and care.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center St. in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at the mortuary. Internment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
