Ida Campbell Kennedy

HYDE PARK, UTAH: Ida C. Kennedy went to be with her Heavenly Father and family on December 22, 2011 in Helena, Montana. She was born on March 3, 1930 in Juniper, Idaho at the family homestead to Hazelton Joiner Campbell and Mariah Louisa Bingham Campbell. Ida graduated from Logan High School in 1948 in Logan, Utah. She also graduated from Logan High School LDS Seminary in 1947.

She came from a very tight knit family who spent their summers in Juniper and the remainder of the year in Burley, Idaho and Logan and Hyde Park, Utah. She was especially proud of her ability to operate the farm machinery from the age of eleven. She said that the only thing she never learned how to do was to milk cows, something she never regretted. Riding horses and caring for livestock a great love of hers. Both in school and her church, she was active in choir groups, glee club, softball, and various social organizations. She was also interested in drama and speech club activities.

Her interest in music continued throughout her life and she also was actively involved in numerous church activities and organizations for the rest of her life. She had an abiding faith in and love for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She loved health care, and worked in that field for over twenty five years. She also adored her work in the tourism trade, particularly as a guide in various national parks. She worked in Bryce National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Zion National Park, and at the Princess Lodge on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. Ida worked driving school buses and as a bus aide up until she had a stroke, also during that time she provided love and care for students of the Helena, Montana School District.

Ida’s joy in life and love of adventure was apparent to all who met or knew her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Kennedy, her mother and father, and the following brothers and sisters: Jean Martindale, Sanford Campbell, Ellen Mitchell, Curtis Campbell, Inez Lee, Grant Campbell, Mary Adams, Lowell Campbell and Ruby Campbell.
