Ina Carlson Reyburn

November 30, 1917 — September 24, 2008

Hyrum, Utah: Ina Carlson Reyburn, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at her daughter's home in Hyrum, Utah, after a short battle with pneumonia and a longer battle with dementia.

She was born on November 30, 1917, in Richmond, Utah, to Joseph Emmanuel and Althery Bright Carlson, and was raised on the family farm in Parker, Idaho. She had 7 siblings, Russell and Mamie Carlson (deceased); Neldon and Agnes Carlson (deceased); Ruth and Hans Hansen (deceased); Grant (deceased) and Nancy Carlson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Reed (deceased) and Reva Carlson of ldaho Falls, Idaho; Vernon and Barbara Carlson of Shelley, Idaho, and Zola and Gene Rigby of Parker, Idaho.

As a middle child of eight, she was responsible for the care of her siblings while everyone else worked on the farm. She had a gift for taking care of people, and this caring was a very important part of her life right up to the end.

She married Claude Martin Reyburn on September 28, 1940, in Logan, Utah, in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Ruth and Hans Hansen. In 1995, she and Claude were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.

She held jobs as a babysitter, housekeeper, in retail, in the Amalga Cheese Factory, and beautician. But her greatest joy was being a mom and grandma to her posterity.

She loved to cook, sew, embroider, quilt, crochet, paint, dance, bird watch, and she always stayed busy. She was a devoted care giver to family and friends and knew how to lend a helping hand.

She is survived by her children: Claudelle (Gene) Gittins of Hyrum, Utah; Lynn (Sandy) Reyburn of Franklin, Pennsylvania; and Terri (Gordon) Stuart of Wellsville, Utah. She is the proud grandma of 13 grandchildren (including spouses): Claude (Vicky) Gittins, Dayton, Idaho; Lyle Gittins, Paradise, Utah; Julie (Lester) Hart, Cooperstown, Pennsylvania; Dan (Missy) Reyburn, Cooperstown, Pennsylvania; Heidi (Jeremiah) Lowery, Hyrum, Utah; Justin Jeppson, Ogden, Utah; Julie (Jerad) Desser, Logan, Utah; April Jeppson, Wellsville, Utah; and Jimmy (Valerie) Stuart, Wellsville, Utah. She is the proud great-grandma of Bracken (Aubrey) Gittins, Crystal (Jesse) DeLong, Jessica, Measha, Mason, and Brock Gittins; Benjamin, Katie, and Emily Lowery; Zane Desser, and Gracelyn Reyburn. She is the proud great-great grandmother of Katie, Tyler, Jace, Austin, and Cole DeLong, and Hagann Rae Gittins.

She has baked her last batch of cookies; her fridge is clean; she played and laughed with her "kids" one last time. She always said she was a mean Swede and a tough old bird, and now she has flown home.
