Inez Miller

Inez Leishman Miller, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Dec. 31,2005 at Terrace Grove Assisted Living Center in Logan, Utah.
Inez was born September 4, 1909, in Wellsville, Utah, to James Ad and Caroline Cooper Leishman. She grew up with a strong family heritage of hard work where she helped with all the duties of farm life. She received her education in Cache County schools. She also attended the L.D.S. Institute at Utah State University.
Inez married her high school sweetheart, Alton G. Miller of Hyrum, Utah. They married in the Logan L.D.S. Temple, September 14, 1927. They lived on their family farm in Hyrum throughout their married life and together they raised 3 sons and 2 daughters.
Her family was her pride and joy. All her talents and energy was focused on caring for her family and home. She was a wonderful cook, and everyone enjoyed her family dinners. She enjoyed music and always loved to play the piano. Reading was her favorite pastime, where she traveled the world through her books.
She was well known for her exceptional flowers and vegetable gardens. She had a talent for creating beauty. Many of her children and grandchildren enjoyed her lovely handiwork.
Inez was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She served in many ward and stake positions throughout her lifetime. She and Alton served as officiators at the Logan L.D.S. Temple they also served an L.D.S. mission to Sacramento, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton G. Miller of Hyrum, Utah, Dennis L. Miller (son) of Hyrum, Utah, Beverly Christensen (daughter) of St. George, Utah, Mary Joyce Darley Miller (daughter-in-law) of Hyrum, Utah, and Marty Miller (grandson) of Hyrum, Utah. Also preceding her in death was her parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
Inez has a large posterity. She is survived by her children, J. Paul (Suzann) Miller of Hyrum, Utah, Richard L. (Sonja) Miller of Hyrum, Utah and Kathleen (Jay) Baugh of Smithfield, Utah, Margaret G. Miller (daughter-in-law) Hyrum, Utah and Dee R. Christensen (son-in-law) St. George, Utah, a brother, Keith (Irene) Leishman, Wellsville, Utah. She has 31 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and 20 great greatgrandchildren. Her love for her children and grandchilaren will be greatly missed but cherished forever. The family values and traditions she instilled in them will live on.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Hyrum 3rd Ward chapel, 111 North 400 West, Hyrum Utah. Bishop Kelly L. Johnson will be conducting. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11 :30 a.m., January 5, 2006, at the Hyrum 3m ward building. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
