It is with great sadness that we are announcing the death of Inh Simoukda, who passed away on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by family and friends. He lived to the age of 81 after living in Cache Valley for the past 44 years.
Inh was born on December 22nd, 1942 to Noukahm and Chanla Mahavong in Banh Phondeua, Savannakhet, Laos. He was wed to Pheng Simoukda on March 9th of 1965, enjoying 59 years of marriage. They had 4 children: Inthanongsak, Tene, Vanh Pheng and Vong. Inh served in the Royal Lao Army as a Captain from 1968 to 1975, facing the rise of communism in Southeast Asia.
The Simoukda family immigrated to the United States in October of 1980, where Inh supported his family working at Pepperidge Farm for 25 years. Inh had 6 grandchildren whom he cherished deeply. Inh loved to be with family and friends and tended to his yard with exceptional care. He was a beloved member of the Laotian community in Utah, meeting all with kindness, humor and authenticity.
Inh is survived by his wife Pheng; children: Tene Simoukda, Vanh Pheng (Ryan) Williams, and Vong (Sam) Chao; with 6 grandchildren. Inh is preceded in death by Inthanongsak (son) and Ket Simoukda (cousin).
Viewing and Funeral Service will be held at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, on November 5th, from 9:30am-12:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Smithfield City Cemetery later that day.
Inh Simoukda will be deeply missed and remembered by all those who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, ພໍ່ຕູ້.
