Irene Nielsen

Irene Nielsen passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024 after a long battle with a brain tumor. Irene was born on January 27, 1953 to Darwin and Elsie (Sharp) Rawlings in Preston Idaho, later moving to Logan and graduating from Logan High School. She married Dallan Nielsen on November 10, 1972. They have 3 children; Emily, Wes, and Valerie.

Irene and Dallan recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. They have fond memories of traveling and camping with their friends and family. Irene worked at Schreiber Foods for 37 years, making many lifelong friends. She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was serving in the Young Women’s program, particularly attending camp. 

Irene has always been the life of the party. Whether it was with her club friends and their monthly Bunco parties, or her work friends and their craft parties, or spending time with her Ward friends especially the youth.

Irene always looked forward to her sister’s lunches and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family. Irene loved going to her grandchildren’s events. She spent countless hours watching soccer games, dance competitions, and loved just spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Dallan Nielsen, children, Emily (Shan) Edwards, Wes (Michelle) Nielsen, Valerie Nielsen (Justin Moyer). Sisters, Arvona (Ed) Jenson, LaNae (Sid) Hyde, Marla (Craig) Barrett, LeAnne (Richard) Larsen, 8 grandchildren and countless other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living for their special care.

Funeral and viewing services will be held at Allen Mortuaries 34 East Center Street Logan, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday December 30, 2024 at 2:00pm. Viewings will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 6pm-8pm and Monday from 1pm-2pm. Interment will be in the Hyrum Cemetery.
