Irene Oscanoa, 81 years old, of Logan, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Logan.
She was born in Lima, Peru, on May 9, 1929. She had four children, Guillermo (Edi) Vidal, Edmundo (Irene) Oscanoa, Rosa (Randy) Reed and Noemi (Luis) Salcedo.
She left behind nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro.
Irene was a very sociable person. She loved to travel, she loved to dance, and she enjoyed life to the fullest.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Spanish Branch in Logan. She loved living in Logan, and she was grateful that she lived in the United States. She loved the wonderful American people, and she had a wonderful time living and working in this country.
Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the LDS meetinghouse (Spanish Branch) at 100 E. 200 South under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. There will be a viewing Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sunshine Terrace. Condolences can be left online at
