IRENE MARIE BOLTINGHOUSE, Mendon, Utah. Born March 16,
1954. Passed away at Logan Regional Hospital from a recurrence of cancer
on October 23, 2006 at the young age of 52.
She was born to Jeanette and Maurice Kennedy at Mother Cabrini Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 2, Irene and family moved to Anaheim, California. Even in her early years, Irene showed a remarkable creativity and a talent for quickly learning new things. Just out of high school, Irene enrolled in the John Robert Powers School of Professional Modeling. Irene followed her dream as a professional model. until 1976 when she met the love of her life - her future husband Terry Lee Boltinghouse. They were married aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California on August 19, 1978. Irene Marie followed Terry to West Germany where they lived for 3 years while Terry served in the United States Army. On June 3, 1979, they were blessed with the birth of their first child, Jissica Ruth at the military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. After returning home, Irene and family moved to Yountville, California where they were blessed a second time by the birth of their daughter, Emily Suzanne on October 30, 1982 at the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California. In 1984, Terry moved his family to La Quinta, California where they lived until moving to Mendon, Utah in 2002,
During their 30 years of marriage, Irene became skilled in several different fields. Multi-talented, Irene has worked in art gallery, assisted an interior designer, inspected construction sites and various custom home installations. After moving to Mendon, Irene was able to pursue a life-long dream of having a large organic garden, a place on their own property for the horses, cats and the dog and hoped to someday raise alpacas. From early childhood, Irene was fascinated by watching women spin wool into yarn at Knott's Berry Farm in California. Once in Mendon, she finally had the opportunity to fulfill that dream when she purchased her own spinning wheel and took lessons on spinning and dying various fibers. She met with her friends in the park one day a week to spin and enjoy their company until she became too ill to continue. Irene loved life and all of its possibilities. Every day brought something new to learn or explore. Irene's loving, generous nature and strong but gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Irene is survived by her husband Terry Lee Boltinghouse (55), daughters Jissica Ruth (27) and Emily Suzanne (23), her mother Jeanette Kennedy (86) and her sisters Joanna Marie Weir (60), Jeanette Maureen Reitman (59), Patricia Lee Clark (58) and Maureen Jean Kennedy (55).
