Irma Loraine Benson Krebs, 83, of North Logan, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.
She was born October 8, 1927, in Trenton, Utah, to Vance H. Benson and Neta J. Hansen. She married Albert Leo Krebs on January 20, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple.
She and Leo made their home in North Logan together for nearly 65 years. They have five children: Linda (Laurel) Hayes of North Logan, Lynn (Carolyn) Krebs of North Logan, Von (Sara) Krebs of Hyde Park, Ilene (Steve) Hooper of Liberty and Maureen (Shirl) McKay of Hyde Park.
Irma was loved by all who knew her. She was always thinking of others instead of herself. She loved people and life itself. She served in many Latter-day Saints church callings throughout her life, from Guide Patrol Leader to Relief Society President, leaving an indelible impression on the lives of others. She enjoyed making quilts for the Humanitarian Center. She lived life with enthusiasm and possessed an unwavering positive attitude that lifted the spirits of everyone she came in contact with. She will be missed by all her knew her.
Irma is survived by her husband, children, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren ; her sister, Gretta Curless of North Salt Lake and brother, Lionel Benson of Gilbert, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Vaughan, LaMoine, Winston, and Ariel, sister, Eloise, and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Logan City Cemetery. An open house celebration of her life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the North Logan Utah Stake Center, 2750 North 800 East, North Logan, Utah.
