Isabel Woodward Leatham Davis - 91, died Friday, March 4, 2011 in Clearfield, Utah. Isabel was born October 26, 1919 in Wellsville to Hyrum Baugh and Jessie Jones Woodward. She grew up in Wellsville, attended Wellsville schools and graduated from South Cache High School. During childhood she worked on the farm with her father and siblings. On October 19, 1936 she married Linden Leatham. Six children were born to this union. They were later divorced. She married Don R. Davis on March 27, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Isabel knew how to work hard. As a single parent she labored tirelessly to support her six children. In 1958 she joined the IRS in Ogden and commuted daily from Logan until retiring after 26 years of service.
Isabel served faithfully in many organizations of the LDS Church, including serving as a devoted visiting teacher for 68 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Isabel is survived by her children: Lynn (Susan) Leatham, Melissa, TX; Carole Leatham (daughter-in-law), Burley, ID; Mark (Marge) Leatham, Portland, OR; Mary Ann (William) McNeil, Clearfield, UT; Karl (Gisela) Leatham, Woodbridge, VA; Eileen (David, Deceased) Ball, Kaysville, UT, 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her son Norman, her husband, a granddaughter, parents, brothers Hyrum and Elmer Woodward and her sister, Dora Izatt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East, Kaysville, UT. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Prior to interment, a brief graveside service will be held at the Wellsville City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at
