PROVIDENCE, UTAH - Ivaloo Zollinger Pierre, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away on January 17, 2009, in Logan, Utah, from the lingering effects of a stroke.
Ivaloo was born March 10, 1919, in Providence, Utah; the seventh child of Laura Aikele and Joseph H. Zollinger. She graduated from South Cache High School in 1937. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1941 she served a full-time mission to the Northern States. She continued as a faithful member of the Church all her life.
As a teen she learned how to work hard and fast while working on the family farm, especially the sugar beet fields. The trait served her well all her life. Her career took her to San Bernardino where she worked for Pep Boys. She then moved back to Providence and worked at the Carnation Milk Co. She finished her career with the accounting department at Utah State University in 1983.
She married John Pierre in 1965 and she and John lived in the Zollinger family home after the death of her parents. After retirement, John and Ivaloo spent 13 winters in Mesa, Arizona, where they made many wonderful friends and were involved in many memorable activities. They enjoyed sharing their home with family members with family reunions and other gatherings. She always was a terrific cook and was especially noted for her pecan pie and pot roast. John passed away in 2001. Ivaloo was especially noted for being fashionable and very independent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Charles, Edna Kirby, Otella Bailey and Nathan, Glendon.
