Ivan Dean Bodrero, 84, of George, Washington passed away at his home on October 24, 2018. He was born November 28, 1933 in Logan, Utah the youngest child of Moses Bodrero and Wilhelmina Wanner Bodrero. Ivan grew up in Logan. His formal education was in the Logan City Schools but his advanced education in farming, mechanics, and business came through a lifetime of hard work.
Ivan spoke fondly of playing with his friends as a child which soon gave way to hard work on the family farm. Still a young man, opportunity called from the Columbia Basin of Washington state where he moved to develop his own farm. He located near where the town of George would soon be established and lived the rest of his life in that area. Life was hard and the work was hard in those early days but Ivan persevered for many years to find the success he desired. He has witnessed many changes, improvements, and growth in the Columbia Basin.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Earl, Mae, Floyd, Kenneth, Hazel, Clara, Laura, and Barbara. Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 29 at the Quincy, Washington LDS church directed by Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel of Quincy. Services will also be held in Logan, Utah with a viewing Friday, November 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St, Logan followed by a short graveside service at the Logan City Cemetery.
