Ivy Mae Atkinson

HYRUM, UTAH - Ivy Mae Atkinson, 76 passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday July 31, 2010 in West Yellowstone Montana doing what she loved to do. She was born on December 14, 1933 in Brigham City Utah to Ray Arthur and Ivy Osborne Jensen She was educated in the Box Elder Schools Graduating from Box Elder High School. She Married Francis Dean McBride of Hyrum Utah on June 28, 1955 in Las Vegas Nevada. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They had 3 children. They were later divorced. She married Kendall Atkinson on July 24, 1987 in Jackson Hole Wyoming. She spent most of her married life in Hyrum Utah. She was employed by Clearfield Cheese and later by Schreibers Cheese. When she retired after many years she had never taken a sick day and received an award for such. She served in many church callings throughout her life. She was a member of the Hyrum Saddle Club for many years. She loved to camp in Yellowstone and Horse trips to the
Uintah and Wind Rivers. She loved country music and in her later years she did lots of traveling and spent the winter months in Yuma Arizona, Part of the summer in Montana with stop overs in Hyrum at their home along the way. When she could still get around she loved to ride the roller coasters and any other thrill rides she could find. She is survived by her Husband Kendall of Hyrum, children Steven (Joanne) McBride of Nibley , Cindy Mason of Ogden , and Daughter in law Kim McBride of Wellsville, Kendall’s children David (Gayla) Atkinson of Lewiston , Roger (Cathy)Atkinson of Logan, Gene Atkinson of Brigham City, and Sandra (Rob) LeVan of Smithfield Utah. She has 23 grandchildren and 16 great Grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 brothers, Dee Ray Jensen of Ogden, Charles Vernon Jensen of Green River, Glendon (Ann) Jensen of Odgen, Sherman (Norma Jean) Jensen of Brigham City, and a sister Letha (Dave) Wagstaff of Odgen. She is preceded in death
by her parents, a son Darwin McBride, grandson Casey McBride, great grandson Kayden Christensen and a sister in law Connie Jensen.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 4th at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center St in Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 3 and from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to services on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
