Jack Peterson

June 20, 1949 — April 28, 2012

HARRISVILLE - The horse ride down the dusty road has led me to the open range of greener fields and running streams.
Jack (JP) Peterson, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother and friend, rode off into the sunset on April 28, 2012.
Jack was born on June 20, 1949 in Preston, Idaho to Nile Zan Peterson and Patricia Ann Cummings. He moved to the Salt Lake Area, where he was raised by his Dad and his wonderful stepmom, Emma Lee Olsen.
Jack started working at Associated Foods with his Dad, as a truck driver then as a hostler. He has been employed with Associated Foods for 43 ½ years.
Jack loved horses, 4 wheeling and the great outdoors. He loved to fish, but always threw them back. He was always willing to help anyone in need, a regular handyman. He adored his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kaylene Cunningham, his children: Leon, Jackie, Alan (Stacey), Jeremey, Jessica (Sergio), and James. Stepchildren: Bill Cunningham (Alysun), Kaysha Cunningham (Joel), 13 grandchildren, 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Misty Shunk.
We will celebrate his love for his grandchildren, his joy of the outdoors and the caring in his heart. Till we meet again, we love you and will miss you.
A special thank you to his many friends at Associated Foods especially Steve Chase and Doug Warren, IHC Hospice, neighbors and his family for the love and support.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 3rd at the Harrisville 2nd Ward, 435 West Harrisville Road in Ogden. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9-10:45 AM at the church. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
