PROVIDENCE, UTAH: Jacqueline Allen Hyden, 87, passed away on December 6, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. She was born on December 28, 1925, in Cove, Utah, to Marion Elijah Allen and Georgia Merrill Allen. She was the eldest of their three children and grew up in Richmond, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended college at Utah State University where she received a degree in teaching.
Jacqueline married Cecil Juan Hyden in January 1947 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1949. They were happily married for 52 years before Cecil passed away in September 1999.
She worked part-time as a substitute teacher for the Cache County and Logan City School District off and on for many years. Her primary job was as a housewife and mother to her 6 children. Jacqueline was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and proudly served her church callings. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering at the ALA Girls State Programs for many years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was instrumental in the formation of the Bear River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She enjoyed researching her family history and shared her love of genealogy with others. She loved quilting and made sure that all her children and grandchildren had a wonderful handmade quilt. She was a serious collector of cups and saucers and displayed them beautifully throughout her home.
