Jacqueline Barber Worley

March 2, 1928 — December 10, 2010

PROVIDENCE, UT - Jacqueline Barber Worley, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010, at the age of 82, with her loving husband and daughter by her side.

Jackie was born on March 2, 1928, in Logan Utah, the daughter of William Wendell and Mary Thain Barber. She attended Logan High School, where she was active in musicals and as a Sponsor Corps major. She married her high school sweetheart, Dr. John C. Worley, on June 6, 1947 in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She attended Utah State University in 1947-48. During that year she was Freshman Class Vice President, a member of the Sponsor Corps, and a member of Chi Omega. She and John are the parents of five children: Sande (Craig) Clark of Cairo, Egypt; Patti (Randy) Johnson of Providence, Utah; Kim (Craig) Smith of Eureka, Missouri; Mary Lyn (Michael) Emswiler of Renton, Washington; and John (Wendy) Worley of Providence, Utah.

Jackie was a wonderful and committed mother who was completely focused on providing love and support to her husband and children. She was always there, usually standing just off-stage and out of the limelight, urging us all to succeed at everything we set out to accomplish. She shared with all her love of music and treasured her many years of singing with the Town Singers in Logan. She especially enjoyed Broadway and Opera and loved listening to her favorite recordings right up until the day she passed away. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions of service throughout her life. She enjoyed being with her friends and participating in many organizations such as Claricy, Study Guild, and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard, and sister Marilyn. She is survived by her husband and children, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Patricia Bindrup of Tremonton, Utah.
