Jaleen Savage Taylor

Jaleen Savage Taylor, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed
away on May 22, 2013, following her daughter Darlene in death by just four days.
Jaleen was born in Salina, Utah on October 28,1928, to Leah Maud Baker and Jesse Raymond Savage.
She was the third of five children. She grew up on a farm in Bicknell, Utah riding horses and milking cows
along side her two younger brothers. She loved dancing and spending time with friends.
At just 17, she met the love of her life Arnold Taylor. They married and started their eternal family on
June 27,1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. In their early married life, they lived in Virginia, Texas and
throughout Utah while Arnold served in the military. They eventually made their home of 55 years on
Crockett Avenue in Logan. Jaleen's greatest joy was as the doting mother to four children: Darlene,
Linda, Karen (died as infant) and Doug, and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and twenty-one
great-grandchildren, each of whom will remember her laughter, kindness and loving service. She made
friends easily and was always willing to help someone in need or simply share a laugh.
Jaleen worked for many years on the surgical floor at the Logan LDS Hospital. She also devoted her time
to working in the Logan LOS Temple and serving in various callings in her ward and stake.
She loved working with her hands and spent many hours crocheting, canning, baking and making candy.
She spent countless hours teaching these skills to her kids and grandkids.
After the death of her sweetheart in 2009, Jaleen lived with her daughter Darlene, who took loving care
of her for 3 years. For the last year, she lived at Legacy Village in Taylorsville. Her family could not have
asked for better care by loving hands. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by brothers Jesse Kent Savage and Shyrl Ben Savage (Joan); daughter Linda Stander (J.R.)
and son Doug Taylor; nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her husband Arnold; daughters Darlene and Karen Taylor; and sisters Roween and Thelma
Savage.
Funeral services for both Jaleen and her daughter will be May 31, at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center
Street, Logan, Utah. The viewing will be from llam-1pm, memorial services at 1pm, followed by
interment at Logan Cemetery.
