James William Lewis passed away and returned home to his Heavenly Father on Dec. 26, 2015 in Logan, Utah. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and cousin, and friend to many.
James was born May 27, 1989 in American Fork, Utah. He was raised in Smithfield, Utah, and graduated from Sky View High School. James served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborn Division, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served his country for four years, including one year in Afghanistan. Following his Army service, he worked at Inovar in Logan, Utah.
James is survived by his parents, Wayne (Diane) Lewis, Logan, Utah; Debbie (Curt) Ostrander, Centerville, Utah; siblings Chris (Laura) Lewis, North Logan, Utah; Meghan (Dan) Croft, Nibley, Utah; Jessica Lewis, Logan, Utah; Zachary Ostrander, Centerville; Utah; Tyler Runchel, Logan, Utah; and Kayla Ostrander, Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandparents, Pauline Lewis, Dale and Janice Byington, and Trish Ostrander; as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved him dearly. James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Royce Lewis, William Bruce and Marie Speakman, and Alfred Irving (Bud) Ostrander III. The family pays a special tribute to Jared and Celeste Moore, and Wayne and Cheryl Moore, who were like second family to James.
James had a giving heart and was a good friend to everyone who knew him. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, and would do anything for anyone. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at the Smithfield 7th Ward LDS Chapel at 79 E. 200 South, Smithfield, Utah, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 3401 E.
