Janice Carol Jensen Clawson passed away May 28th 2024 at Maple Springs Skilled Nursing facility in North Logan.
Janice was born August 30th 1934 in Mantua Utah to Amelia Larsen Jensen and Allston Jensen. She had many wonderful childhood memories and we loved to hear her stories.
She attended Box Elder High School and Utah State University where she made cherished lifelong friends.
Janice worked at the Bureau of Reclamation in Salt Lake City and then moved back to Cache Valley when she met and married Don Clawson of Hyrum, Utah. She said he was the best dancer. They settled in Hyrum where they raised their family. They had great neighbors who became treasured friends.
Janice was an avid reader and made the best dill pickles and sugar cookies. She decorated beautiful real Christmas trees with her special touch.
She was loved dearly by her family including many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Grandma Jan was her favorite role. She was the best at reading stories and making special treats. Somehow there were a lot of assemblies when Caden was in High School just up the street and he and his friends spent a lot of time enjoying her PB&J’s and congregating in the basement. She loved having them and hearing them laugh.
There were many Fourth of July Hyrum fireworks gatherings at her home with blankets on the lawn and the kids running around. We all loved being there together with her in a lawn chair smiling.
Some of her favorite times were sitting on the back porch for countless hours chatting with neighbor and friend Julie Rich and her trips to Arizona with her girlfriends Joyce and Delores.
We want to thank all of her friends and relatives who have sent messages of love and condolences.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ora Owens (Les), Marcus Jensen and Harold Jensen and by her husband Don and son Matt.
She is survived by her children Bob (Britt Fagerheim) and Kay (Eric Gierloff) and her grandson Caden (Sage). She loved being a Grandma to bonus granddaughter Brittney Lindley (Bryce) and Brittneys children Jackson, Emma and Allie and to Caden and Brittneys brother Bridger.
She had special relationships with each of her children and grandchildren and would light up seeing them.
The family would like to thank Legacy House of Logan and Maple Springs Skilled Nursing Unit in North Logan as well as Vanessa Moser with Tender Care Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Janice in her last years and months.
Internment will be at Hyrum City Cemetery. As per her wishes there will be no viewing or funeral.
