Jay Blaine Checketts

Jay Blaine Checketts was born May 18, 1936, in Providence, Utah to Arthur & Frieda Checketts passed away on May 19, 2024, in Logan surrounded by family.  The last of seven.  Jay was employed at Thiokol for 10 years then went to work at Utah State University for 30 years starting in the boiler house and worked his way up to foreman control in HVAC.  Jay loved his job at USU and the many friends he made, especially George Taylor as they became like brothers.  Jay married Louise Pratt on December 1957, and later divorced.  Jay married Linda Kaae Holden Checketts on February 25, 1995.   

Jay was preceded in passing by Art and Colleen Checketts, George and Anita Checketts, Tressa and Lorenzo Jensen, Ruth and Marlow Halveson, Elma and Omar Chugg, Lois and Jay Stokes, Kevin J. Sackett and Jody Holden.

Jay is survived by Cindy and Cordell Thompson (Tremonton, UT), Jay Checketts Jr. and Fiancé Karen Hacking (Montpelier, ID), Shannon Viggo Kaae (Houston, TX), Sheridan Holden (Logan, UT), Robert and Lori Holden (Millville, UT), Tony and Camie Holden (Hyde Park, UT). 17 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E. Center St. Logan.  A viewing will be prior to the funeral service from 11-12:30 as well as an additional evening viewing on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary.  

Burial will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
