Jay Anderson Haslam passed away peacefully July 15, 2018 with his wife by his side. He was born April 4, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Francis G. Haslam and Elva A. Haslam. Jay married Connie Petersen October 25, 1952 and was later sealed to his family in the Logan LDS temple on May 24, 1964.
Jay is a Gold Card member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association where he participated in Bareback riding and worked for the Bar T Rodeo Company for many years. He also worked for U & I Sugar Company, Sherwood Hill resort, and drove truck for Sharp Transportation until retirement. Jay was loved and admired by everyone that knew him.
Jay is survived by his children, Deborah Haslam (Mike), Lyle Haslam (Julie); grandchildren, Jeff, Joey, Austin, Lindsay; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, between 6 and 8 pm. A funeral will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 South Center in Wellsville, beginning at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment will take place in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Special thanks to the Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living care facility in Hyrum and to all the staff that took special care of him and made him smile.
