A. Jay Hunsaker, aged 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 14th, 2024, in his home in Logan, Utah.
The patriarch of the family, Allen Jay Hunsaker was born on June 30, 1941, in Osmond, Wyoming. He was named Allen after his father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather, all of whom were the eldest son of the eldest son. The name Jay was after his maternal grandfather. He was born to Allen LeRoy Hunsaker and Ruth Ella Oakley.
Jay completed a 2 ½ year long mission to Argentina between 1960-1963. After which he enlisted in the US Navy, where he served from 1963-1966. In June of 1964, he married his wife of 60 years, Helene, whom he is survived by.
Jay and Helene had 4 children. Michelle Maria, Allen Jason, Daniel Adam, and Holly Nicole. He had 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Jay completed more than 50 years in banking before retiring. He was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held the positions of Bishop, High Counsel, and Stake Executive Secretary throughout his life. Jay was also an award-winning photographer, a woodworking hobbyist, and an avid fisherman. He is sorely missed.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at the LDS Church 825 N, 200 W Logan, Utah. Viewing will be from 10:30-11:30. Chapel Services will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial with Military Honors, and dedication will follow at the Logan Cemetery.
