Jeannette Norris Hirst

Smithfield, Utah: Jeannette Norris Hirst, 90, died on Wednesday morning, February 18, 2009 at home in Smithfield. She was born January 27, 1919 to Thomas B. and Hortense Obray Norris. She married Rex Hirst on November 12,1935 in Paradise. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Rex died on April 11, 1984.
Jeannette was a longtime resident of Paradise.
Jeannette was a member of the LDS Church.
Grandma was a wonderful cook, she made the best bread in town that she shared with many. Grandma will be remembered as a very hard worker, she always cared for others, was highly respected and she will be greatly missed. She loved to crochet.
She is survived by her children, Rexiene Hirst, Smithfield; JaNaye (Tom) Whitaker, Ogden; and Val (Sherry) Hirst, Hot Springs, South Dakota; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and one sister, Roberta (Gary) Bowen, Paradise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her six siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Paradise Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the graveside at the Paradise LDS Ward Chapel Relief Society room, 9060 South 200 West, Paradise, Utah on Monday from 10:30 AM until 12 PM.
Jeannette was the rock of the family.
