Jeannine Bush

July 31, 1930 — January 26, 2013

Evelyn Jeannine Anderson Bush

Evelyn Jeannine Anderson Bush passed peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age of 82. Born July 31, 1930 in Samaria, Idaho to Richard Morse Anderson and Vivian Clara Wright, she was raised in Provo and graduated from Provo High. She met her sweetheart, Wayne Bowen Bush when her cousins took her to a dance in Malad, Idaho and they were married August 16, 1949. Despite the loss of their first son, Bruce, and medical advice suggesting they would never have children, she maintained her faith in a patriarchal blessing promising she would raise sons and daughters, which she did.

Life was an adventure for Jean and Wayne as they traveled from Idaho to Ohio back to Idaho, then Denver, to Florida, back to Denver and finally settling the past 37 years in The Dalles, Oregon. She supported her husband and her family, developed her own talents for painting, candle making, quilting and sewing, collecting enough material to fill a house. A true child of the depression, she saved everything from bread bags to string and knew how to work. She bottled fruit, dried fruit and made quart after quart of the most delicious grape juice. Ever resourceful, she often recycled cards for all occasions.

Inside and out, she created beauty, growing stunning roses and dahlias and peonies that filled the yard with color. Her contributions and service spanned seven decades, influencing children and women, young and old. A highlight of church service was returning to Ohio to fulfill a mission with her husband. An avid genealogist, she passed the Spirit of Elijah to her son Kirk and together they researched generations stretching back to 5th century Wales.

Preceded in death by her brother Richard and her sister Elaine, as well as her mother and father, she leaves behind her husband Wayne; siblings Bill (Norma), Vivian (Neb), Roy (Rita), Michael (Shirley) and Kathleen (Gordon); children Pam, David (Cathy), Kirk (Debbie), Douglas (Ann) and Maryanne (Glenn) as well as 25 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, with two on the way.

While Jean only lived in Logan the past five months, her great grandfather John P. Wright was instrumental in settling Cache Valley and is buried in Paradise. She leaves a lasting legacy of love for life.

Family members wish to thank Dana, Tammy and other hospice workers who so gently cared for mother the past five months.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held in Malad at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
