Jeddy (Jed) Grant England passed away October 31, 2011 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City of pneumonia and other complications related to his battle with esophageal cancer. His two brothers were at his side at the time of his passing.
Jed was born April 27, 1945 in Logan, Utah to Rex Hatch and Margaret Morgan England. Both parents preceded him in death. Jed grew up in Salt Lake City, attending school there and graduating from West High School. Later he attended Utah State University. Jed is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served an honorable mission in the Central Atlantic States. He later served as a member of the U. S. Coast Guard reserve.
In his younger years, Jed was an accomplished tennis player, winning several significant tournaments. For over 30 years he drove long haul semi-trucks travelling the country from coast to coast and making many new friends. Jed loved and was loved back by the families of his two brothers Tom and Clark, including many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. They especially loved his ability to "spin" great stories.
Jed is survived by his brothers Rex Thomas (Maribel) of Draper and Clark Morgan (Marie) of Logan, and by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family would like to thank Jed's "young couple" friends at Hanbury Manor for their love and concern. Special thanks also to Dr. Ali Ben-jacob, the nurses and doctors at Logan Regional ICU and LDS Hospital ICU for their excellent care and valiant effort in trying to prolong Jed's life.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary located at 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held for friends and family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
