Jeffrey Winslow Hedin, 53, passed away after a valiant battle with ocular melanoma on December 25, 2015 in his home, surrounded by family.
Jeffrey was born in Ogden, Utah on December 17, 1962 to Duane Earl and Janice Hurst Hedin, the fourth of five sons. After a few years in Indiana, the family settled in Logan, Utah. Jeffrey excelled in academics and athletics at Logan High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Kellie Shelton. They were married for time and eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on June 8, 1984.
Jeffrey enjoyed working at Icon Health and Fitness where he was marketing manager. There he had many opportunities to travel the world, share his light and make lasting friendships.
Jeffrey has been a missionary his entire life. He served a full-time mission in the Taiwan Kaohsiung mission and never stopped sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was High Priest Group Leader at the time of his death and served honorably in numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, from Nursery Leader to Bishop.
He loved camping, fishing, and hunting but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kellie; daughter, Taylor (Michael) Jewell; son, Riley (Ashley); daughter, Hayley (David) Brown; son, Jesse; grandchildren, Dawson, Cooper, Owen, Will, Savanna, Leo, Lucy; father, Duane; brothers Mike, Mont, Darren, Lindsay and their spouses.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the River Heights Stake Center, 800 South 600 East in River Heights. Friends and family are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Allen-Hall Mortuary of Logan, 34 East Center, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the stake center. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery.
