Jeffrey L. Garrett

LOGAN, UTAH - Jeffrey Leon Garrett passed away early Monday morning April 20, 2009. He was born on June 25th 1957 to W. Jay Garrett and Louise Garrett in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Logan, Utah from birth until 1971 and finished Junior and Senior High School in SLC; graduating from Judge Memorial High School in 1975 He returned to Logan and attended Utah State University. He joined Sigma Chi Fraternity and remained loyal throughout his life. Jeff married his High School sweetheart Mary Reid in May of 1982 and on March 31st 1992 they had a son Christopher Jay Garrett the love of his life.
He was involved in the Insurance business with his father at Hatch insurance Agency at a very young age from there began working in 1978 with Continental Agency, Bayly ,Martin and Fay and Rollins Burdick Hunter. In 1991 he started Garrett Insurance Agency.
He was a Designated Insurance Counselor beginning May 1986, Past President Professional Insurance Agents 1990-1991, Agent of the Year 1991, and Member of Logan Rotary since 1987, lifetime Member Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Board Member Cache Humane Society and involved in many fundraisers for charities.
He was an avid golfer and member of Logan Golf and Country Club which led him to being a Past President. He loved the outdoor s, skiing, fly-fishing, music and the piano which he studied with Irving Wasserman.
He is survived by Mary, his son Christopher both of Logan, his mother Louise Garrett of Salt Lake City and Brother Jay Garrett of Sun Valley, Idaho and many sisters in -laws and brother in- laws, cousins, nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his father W. Jay Garrett in 2007.

Funeral Services will be held at Allen Hall-Mortuary Chapel, 34 E Center Saturday on April 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Friends may call at the Mortuary on Friday evening 6-8pm and Saturday from 11:30 till 12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery Condolences may be extended to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
