Jerry Calton Smith

Jerry Calton Smith died August 30, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center of pancreatic cancer. He was born January 17, 1935, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Jed Calton andVirginia Elizabeth Shepard Smith. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1953 to 1956. He was employed as an electrician.

Jerry married Carol Schulz in 1956. They had three children. In 2002 he married Theda Rasmussen in the Logan LDS Temple. She had three children also.
Jerry is survived by his siblings: Ronald Smith (ZoAnn), Ralph Smith, MarJean Henson (Darrell), Jennie Hansen (Boyd), Victor Smith (Mavis), Vada Little (Chuck), and David Smith (Peggy). He is also survived by their children Jerry C. Smith, Jr. (Kathleen), Craig E. Smith (Lynn), Teresah Peters, Luana Petersen (Brent), Shelly Wilson (Gary), and Cary Larsen. He leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jerry enjoyed photography, golf, fishing, and touring. He especially loved children and the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Primary Children’s Medical Center for Preemie care, 100 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84113.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 3, 2007 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
