Jerry Charles Simmonds passed away Nov. 20, 2009 at Logan Regional Hospital due to heart failure.
He was born May 8, 1950 in Logan, Utah. The son of William Lloyd and Thelma Erickson Simmonds. He married Lana Bailey on Sept. 15, 1972 and was blessed with 3 sons. Jerry grew up in Trenton and graduated from Sky View High school in 1968.
He served in the U.S. army in the 1st Infantry Division and attended logistics Command School, and served overseas he was Honorable discharged as a SGT E-5 in 1971.
He worked for the Cache County Sheriffs office from 1972-1978. From 2006 -2008 he worked for Dyna Corp Civ Pol program in Iraq.
Jerry was a member of the LDS church. He enjoyed working on the farm and spending time with his sons. He enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors under the shade tree in the summer time.
He is survived by his wife Lana and his three sons Wesley, William, and Erick. He was preceeded in death by his father, mother, and brother Bruce.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wed. Nov. 25, 2009 in the Trenton-Cornish LDS Ward Chapel 1200 North 400 West Trenton, Utah with Bishop Robert Smith, Conducting. Friends and family may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 East Center Street Logan, Utah and at the Church from 10:30 to 11:45 on Wednesday prior to services. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery with military Honors provided by Smithfield American legion post 58. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at
